The roots of what is now the Ultimate Camping Network (UCN) trace back over three decades to a visionary concept called Adventure Outdoor Resorts (AOR). Founded in the early 1990s, AOR pioneered a new kind of membership-based camping experience. By creating a network of private RV resorts and campgrounds across the United States, AOR allowed its members to enjoy affordable, well-maintained outdoor destinations with the comfort of knowing their nightly rate was always consistent and budget-friendly.

AOR quickly became a favorite among RV enthusiasts, families, and retirees who valued the freedom of travel without the unpredictability of campground costs or availability. Members appreciated the structured access to scenic locations, community-oriented events, and the peace of mind that came from camping at trusted, member-exclusive properties. The AOR model offered benefits similar to those of a timeshare—only in the great outdoors.

As demand for flexible, affordable outdoor travel grew, AOR evolved. The brand was later refreshed and reintroduced as the Ultimate Camping Network (UCN). This rebranding reflected a broader, more modern vision: to build the most expansive and trusted private camping network in North America. UCN retained the same founding principles as AOR—value, community, and consistency—while integrating technology, improved booking systems, and an expanded roster of resort partners.

In 2025, UCN entered its most exciting chapter yet when it was acquired by RSI Vacations, one of the most respected travel membership companies in North America. With a legacy of more than 20 years in the travel industry, RSI Vacations brought unmatched resources, technology, and service capabilities to UCN. The acquisition created new opportunities for UCN members, including integrated travel benefits, global resort access, and enhanced customer support.

Today, the Ultimate Camping Network, under the RSI Vacations umbrella, is proud to serve tens of thousands of members across the U.S. and Canada. With over 140 affiliated RV resorts and growing, UCN remains committed to its mission: to make outdoor adventures more affordable, accessible, and unforgettable—for everyone who loves the freedom of the open road.

Our campground pricing models are behind by a member login. We do this to ensure that we protect the rate integrity of our campground and travel partners. Our prices are generally far below the price listed on the campground or supplier's online website.
